What does it take for you to feel like a winner? Do you feel worthy of a sense of accomplishment, pride and contentment? If not, why not?
Do you have a list of essential ingredients or ‘to do’s’ that you must tick off in order to feel worthy of the title? Imagine if you could feel like a winner every day.
There are loads of articles and motivational quotes about how you can realise your dreams and feel like a winner in life. Some set the bar pretty high.
If you haven’t felt that way in a while or hardly ever experience the feeling – ask yourself this: “What are my rules for achieving happiness?’.
TIP 1: GOALS ARE GREAT, BUT THE JOURNEY IS KING.
On Sunday 7 May 2014, 30 Fitness Revolution members and supporters climbed the 54 flights to the top of the tallest building in Perth. Regardless of the time it took to get to the top – all of them felt a sense of accomplishment and joy at having made the journey.
Some of them were pleased because they smashed their previous time while others were happy to have completed the climb. Whatever your goal, every step in that direction makes you a winner. Consider that every gold medal or goal accomplished is the sum of many steps leading up to that moment. As long as you are making progress and growing as an individual, you are successful.
TIP 2: RULES ARE EVERYTHING….

What are your rules? Do you have to achieve the perfect body before you will allow yourself to feel proud or happy? If so, consider how this expectation affects your overall confidence. If you are walking around feeling like you are less than worthy of happiness, you are also less likely to make healthy choices in the here and now. Our suggestion – every time you make a choice that gets you closer to your goals, remind yourself that in that moment you are a winner.
TIP 3: PROGRESS = HAPPINESS
Sometimes we are so focused on where we want to be, the ultimate goal, we forget that the journey is our opportunity to form new habits and rituals and practice a new mindset. If we get the mindset right, all the rest will follow.
